born in 1960, lives in Boulder, Colorado. Amerika is the editor of the web-project "Alt-x" (founded in 1993). As a creative writing fellow and lecturer of net-publishing and hypertext he developed "Grammatron" in 1997, still one of the most important net-projects, which was recently invited to the Whitney Biennial of American Art. Further publications of Mark Amerika: "The Kafka Chronicles. A Novel" (1993); "Sexual Blood" (1995); "Hypertextual Consciousness" (1997), and numerous articles on the aesthetics of media art.
